Hi YB,
Congrats for all you have achieved.
I am writing to inquire how & where could I find information regarding the construction that is going on along the federal highway stretch that’s running through Klang town.
For most of us who are uninformed, it just seems ridiculous that constructing a mere fly-over is going to take till Dec 2009! It was already bad enough that we had to put up with the construction of the earlier fly-over heading towards Port Klang (at the Kudrat intersection) for over 2-3 years!
Is this the same contractor? Why does it take so long? Can nothing else be done to better the traffic condition that us the tax payers have to go through?
To make matters worst, the work on that project doesn’t seem to be done in a timely manner.. no work is being done at night, nor do we see any urgency in ensuring this mess is completed soonest possible!
Please enlighten us on why we have to put up with these rubbish projects that we are financing one way or another. Otherwise, please direct me the proper channels where I can voice this up.
On behalf of the Klang folks,
Barry
Dear Barry,
I understand what you are going through right now. Before I moved to OUG, I used to live at Bayu Perdana for 3 years. It’s true I had to endure the traumatic experiences every morning and evening as I pass through the construction site of what is known as the Kudrat intersection.
Today this much-hyped project stretching along the MAIN ARTERY of Klang town (soon to be a city) is causing inconveniences at a much larger scale. I don’t think it’s wise for the contractors to pull out at this stage as the mess has been made. Of course we can ask them to speed up, that’s all.
Perhaps it’s good that all Klangites learn several other alternative routes to get them to their destinations. For example, when I was working in Shah Alam, sometimes when it’s all stuck from Persiaran Raja Muda Musa to the Berkeley Garden Roundabout, I use a longer route, either via KESAS or Northport Expressway (this is a super-long detour, but what the heck?). I don’t know where you live, but if you are living nearby my former place, you can also try the Connaught Bridge road.
This is a trying time for Klang folks, and I fully sympathize.
Dear Teresa,
On behalf of my Klang brethrens, I would like to point out that the roads and bridges in Klang are severely insufficient for the current traffic load. While population of Klang is approaching 1 million today, the quality of its roads cannot even compare with smaller towns like Kuantan and Alor Star.
I fully understand that you are not the representative of Klang, but with your position as an EXCO in the state govt, do you think you can propose to build, especially, more bridges across the Klang River. Traffic jams has been a perennial problem for Klang folks, with or without construction going on. And I observe that the main problems lie at crossing the Klang River. The two main bridges in downtown Klang are served by traffic coming from multiple sources, practically all over the district. As so, these bridges have been stretched way beyond their intended capacity. Please look into this matter. Thank you.
Helo YB Teresa,
Hidup Pakatan..
