New Year Message from DAP colleague Hannah Yeoh: Dawn of an Inclusive Malaysia

Posted on Monday, 02-01-2012Sunday, 08-01-2012 by Teresa
New Year message from Hannah Yeoh, Subang Jaya State Assemblyman and
DAP Selangor Treasurer, Subang Jaya – 02 January 2012

A New Year dawns and an opportunity exits for the creation of an inclusive Malaysia

As we step into the New Year, my hope and urge for Malaysians in 2012 is that there is more inclusiveness in the laws and practices in our multi-ethnic and multi-religious country. Many incidents in 2011 have left Malaysians wondering if the current Barisan Nasional administration is sincere in its motto of 1Malaysia when it has on many occasions failed to protect the rights of minority ethnics and religions in the country.

BN’s failure in admonishing groups such as Perkasa, who have been on a warpath against non-Muslim communities, is a clear indication that the nation’s leadership is non-receptive towards the needs and rights of all Malaysians. The recent episode, involving threats by the extremist group Perkasa against a harmless appeal by National Evangelical Christian Fellowship’s Reverend Eu Hong Seng for rights of all in Malaysia to be protected, should no longer be tolerated in the coming year.

Reverend Eu’s call for Article 153 of the Federal Constitution to be read in a manner that would ensure an inclusive approach to protecting all Malaysians, not just one section of citizens, is fair and timely to say the least. Why have such requests been received so negatively by the BN, and its associates, and such aggressive reaction meted out? Does the mere mention of Article 153 justify such reactions, especially when non-Malays discuss it? Has Malaysia not developed and moved forward in its thinking?

I strongly support Parliamentary and DAP stalwart Lim Kit Siang’s suggestion for “an independent and dispassionate study [to be] made as to who must be held responsible for the worsening racial and religious polarisation in the past 32 months” in Malaysia. Only then can the country truly adopt and implement concepts such as 1Malaysia.

2012 offers us all an opportunity to create a more modern, forward thinking and developed Malaysia, one that caters for the rights of all equally. While I take this opportunity to wish Malaysians a Happy New Year, I would also like to remind Malaysians that the power to ensure the country moves in the right direction is in your hands. With the opportunity provided in the next general election, it is a chance for us to weed out extremists in the administration and ensure a better Malaysia.

Happy New Year to you and Teresa.
I think that there’s a new awakening in this country.
And judging from the many blog sites, the wind is blowing favourably towards PR.
However, a penetration of the so-called safe deposits in East Malaysia as well as the Malay rural areas by their urban brethren, who are better informed, would definitely be a plus.

Happy New Year to you ladies. This special year 2012 will definitely be the ‘Year Of The Ladies’.Just make sure you ladies go kick butts of Umno/BN this coming GE.

The bumbling hired hands morons of Umnoputra babbons have got off 2012 on the wrong footing. They sent out their bouncers, the PDRM to physically and brutally beat up university student protestors. All this on the first day of an election year. What better present can the stupid Umnoputras and their goons present to the PR next.

With the cows scandal,PM and DPM’s secretaries makan suap, the officials in charge of Islamic affairs using the funds as their piggy bank, what more can you ladies ask for.Maybe can take a peek at Najib and Muhyiddin’s local and foreign bank accounts.

With Najib stumbling and flipflopping all the way to the finish line,Muyiddin getting sloppy and heavy as a kerbau,Hishamuddin and the IGP busy chasing after the invisible six PSM activists,Sharizat busy sparring and have not decided how many Umnoputras she is going to take down with her.And Rais busy with his misinforming the Malays of DAP taking over the PM’ship.Abrahim Ali and Hassan Ali busy looking for the talking bibles.Jais and Rela looking out for Umno ministers commiting khalwat in an election year. What more you ladies want, feel free to ask.

Happy New Year to Teresa, Hannah and all team members of PKR. You folks have done a great job for the rakyat as a whole all these years despite all the bullyings and objections from BN/UMNO esp the Federal government. Not easy tasks thats for sure but keep it up.
On the same note, just ignore these brainless, racialistic numbskulls esp from Perkasa. They have nothing better to do except opening their big fouled mouth, beating their chests claiming to represent and defend their own race and religion. Just hearing and looking st their faces makesone vomit. Of course not to forget that fat bum bird’s brian idiot Perkasa chief IA. The devils will close his big mouth one day in hell.
Lets move on and do our best for all Malaysian irrespective of race and religion.
