I made police report about my death threat (dengan terjemahan Bahasa Malaysia)

At 11am today, I lodged a police report at Balai Polis Pandan Indah regarding the death threat which an anonymous commenter using the pseudonym “hanturaya” posted on my blog yesterday, saying “teresa, kau ni perlu diajar dgn darah t.kasih”.

This threat was made in reference to my blog post titled “Cawangan Ahli Melayu DAP Kedua Ditubuhkan di Ampang Dalam Majlis Sambutan Aidilfitri Kebangsaan DAP” dated 29 September 2009. ( http://teresakok.com/2009/09/29/cawangan-ahli-melayu-kedua-ditubuhkan- di-ampang-dalam-majlis-sambutan-aidilfitri-kebangsaan-dap/ )

I was touched that some Malay members of DAP Ampang branch and Kampung Lembah Kinrara branch, young and old, came out to join us and give me moral support in lodging my police report.

( http://teresakok.com/2009/09/29/cawangan-ahli-melayu-kedua-ditubuhkan- di-ampang-dalam-majlis-sambutan-aidilfitri-kebangsaan-dap/ )

The police of Pandan Indah Police Station did not allow party members and media to enter into the police station. We had no choice, we then posed for the journalists outside the police station.  I don’t understand why the policemen were so worried about us that they had to close the gate and prevented my members and journalists from entering into the police station compound.

Here is the police report which I lodged.

Accompanying me were ADUN Teratai YB Jenice Lee (standing beside me) and behind me in blue is Haji Haron Abdul Wahab, the founding member of DAP branch Kampung Lembah Kinrara.

Haji Haron Abdul Wahab went on record stating that he had chosen to join DAP by his own conviction and beliefs. He said it was my works for the Malay villagers in his area that made him join the DAP.

The DAP councilor for Kuala Selangor, Azli Idris also came to lend his support. He said, “It is not fair that DAP is always being threatened when Malay or Islam issues are raised by people who are against democracy in Malaysia.”

“According to Najib’s 1Malaysia, every race should be treated equally. Even Barisan Nasional’s Gerakan party has Malay members.  There are people who are feeling threatened now that there are more Malays are joining DAP,” he added.

This couple are from Ampang. They came to give me support with their grandchild.

This guy is Mohamed bin Samat, leader of the Saga branch, the new Malay members branch in Ampang. He said the reason he joined the DAP is to serve the people in his area. He said there is nothing wrong for Malays to join the DAP.

We will not be shaken by such cowardly threats!

    Hi Teresa,

You reported that the IP address used by “Hanturaya” was “120.141.120.96”. If you do a “WHOIS” search for the IP address at http://www.apnic.net, you will find that it is registered under Packet-One Networks Sdn Bhd. Most probably “Hanturaya” was using their P1 Wireless Broadband services. Suggest you approach P1 to get the details of the culprit.

By the way, keep up the good work.

That’s the way to show these stubborn idiots what DEMOCRACY really means! Democracy knows no race, religion or creed! It’s all about freedom of the people. Carry on the good work Teresa. May god bless you!

It is heartening to note that you have managed to set up a couple of branches having Malay DAP members. This should be encouraged instead of being threatened, as it will lead to multi-racial rather than racial politics. Some people are feeling insecure about this change in mindset.

In fact, there should be more Malays joining DAP and non-Malays joining PKR within Pakatan, if the coalition parties are feeling secure and comfortable with each other.

Each of us has only one life, so any open threat to one’s life cannot be taken lightly. I am disappointed with those who commented that you are using this for publicity!

There is no reason that the POLICE & MCMC not able to catch this criminal…they have caught people who comment negatively about Sultan Azlan Shah of Perak and charged them in court

….. so no reason why they can’t do the same this time ..

unless there is a selective prosecution!

Hi Teres – It is so heart-warming to see our Malay brothers and sisters coming out to provide you the necessary moral support. This really augers well for our Malaysian society. Of course, you will still get some rightist morons who just couldn’t stand the sight of such a gathering and will no doubt continue in their endeavour to sabotage your efforts. I sure would like to wish the two new branches well and hopefully, some of their members will become elected members to Parliament, just like the late Ahmad Nor. In the meantime, you have to take real good care of yourself and may the Good Lord watch over you always.

    Y.B. Teresa Kok,

Since the last time I surfed the internet to write a comment on Y.B. Yusmadi’s (M.P. Balik Pulau) blog and Dato’ Seri Anwar Ibrahim’s blog, I venture forthwith with the sole intention of writing this comment on your blog and another on Y.B. Yusmadi’s blog.

I’m going to be straightforward. As much as I respect and defend the freedom of speech, only anally-retentive individuals might leave such comments that seemingly imply incitement of violence. That’s why I defend and promote the respect and right of life and liberty. This will further progress our fledgling democracy into a blooming civil society (masyarakat sivil/madani).

Keep up the good work. The DAP is gaining Malay support which in turn has angered Umno. Dont give up. Continue the struggle against lies, deceit, racism, bigotry, idiocy and stupidy. Long live Anwar.

At first, UMNO lost grounds to PAS. Then UMNO lost grounds to PKR and now it is losing grounds to DAP! Looks like UMNO will be an “empty vessel” by GE13!

when you have a large family, one or two left the family are no big deal!
however……. when your family become only a handful and still many more seem to have the inclination to leave………… the situation become desperate…. desperate situation calls for desperate action…… so the death threat is just a manifestation of a desperate mind…… communists often execute their comrades when they show signs of wanting to leave…. so…. it is not surprising that Teresa got a death threat!!!!
so…..if i decided to leave the ‘frog leaping’ party, i may even be ‘executed’!
That’s what happen to dr. chua!!!!

    Teresa, well done!
It’s heartening that more and more Malays are coming round to the fact that DAP will fight for the rights of everybody, irregardless of race, religion or social standing.
The fact that DAP can garner the support of the Malays will send shivers down the spineless creatures that have messed up our country for far too long!

    Teresa,
Your title is misleading, please consider revising it to “a death threat against me”.

    Teresa,
The death threat against you could have been deleted during moderation without being published. Is publicity the reason why the comment fell through moderation?

(Dear “Najib”, this comment of yours could easily have been deleted too during moderation but it wasn’t. Ask yourself why.)

It’s 13th Oct today while we still awaits the news or arrest of the Hanturaya if the PDRM is a neutral law enforcement agency. All the details & location & IP Address are provided and the originator can be back track. Death threat is a serious crime unless PDRM wants to use ISA again on Teresa Kok like what they did to Tan Hoon Cheng. Toyol do have hardcopy evidence of death threat should be in ISA detention for his own protection. But Tan Hoon Cheng has never had any death threat. PDRM is taking a vvvveeeerrrryyyyy sssllooooowwwww & lllooonggg to solve this case.
