Anonymous threat on my blog a vile and despicable act of intimidation

I am shocked but not intimidated by the anonymous comment left on my blog this morning by pseudonym “hanturaya” which said, “teresa, kau ni perlu diajar dgn darah t.kasih (sic)”

This comment was left on the blog post titled “Cawangan Ahli Melayu DAP Kedua Ditubuhkan di Ampang Dalam Majlis Sambutan Aidilfitri Kebangsaan DAP” dated 29 September 2009. I regard this anonymous comment as a vile and despicable act of intimidation intended to frighten me into abandoning my duties as an elected representative.

I will lodge a police report at Balai Polis Pandan Indah at Jalan Pandan Ilmu, Pandan Indah, Kuala Lumpur at 11am tomorrow. I will also provide the police with screen capture of the comment and the IP address which will enable them to track down the offender.

I am unshaken by threats, anonymous or otherwise, as they are made only by cowardly opponents who have no substance in their arguments and no guts to stand by their words.

This is not the first time I have received anonymous threats. On 27 September last year, a molotov cocktail was thrown into the compound of my family residence together with a piece of paper which threatened to set my family and I on fire.

I urge the police to investigate this act of intimidation and bring the culprit to justice without delay.

I want to send a strong message that such threats, whether made online or offline, are criminal offences and should not be tolerated.

I wish to thank the many supporters who have quickly responded by leaving many subsequent comments on my Facebook and blog to support me and condemn “hanturaya’s” threat.

  3. Teresa, frankly I do not think the police will be able to help you directly. I myself was libelled by an anonymous coward called “ShadowFox” and made a police report in March. Until today, I have yet to receive any follow-up from them.

    If you are serious in tracing this coward, first make the police report and then ask them to refer the case to Cybersecurities Malaysia or bring the police report to MCMC and ask them to look into the matter. The police themselves will not be able to help you as they do not have the technological capabilities to do it.

    For every threat you received, I believe many kind hearted souls would come to your aid.

    And jail is a suitable place for this ‘little guy’ called hanturaya.

    Actually there are BLESSINGS IN DISGIUSE regarding this so-called threat. There are several benefits of which you could garner from this threat.

    1) Gain cheap publicity from this threat thus making you more visible & vocal (that’s what DAP are always good for)

    2) Gain cheap sympathy by potraying a scenario to ‘the rakyat’ by showing them you need support becos’ a poor lady is getting threathened by God knows who.

    3) Potray youself as some sort of SUPERWOMAN by declaring you are UNSHAKEN by the threat. This might perhaps make others think you are kinda strong regardless whether you are really one or not.

    4) Make an extra topic for you to write in your Blog. Your daily blog articles are seen as boring & outdated. Perhaps, by writting some nonsense regarding this threat incident might bring something new & different to your readers/visitors.

    5) Hope this incident gets some sort of coverage from the Media. Thus, you get to enhance your political mileage.

    At the end of the day, regardless whether this threat is actually genuine or not…it’s NOT the main issue.

    The main issue is that you’re now still alive & unharmed. So, please just get on with live & stop blogging & complaining about this threat & that, can ar???

    P.S. – I wonder will you blog if there’s some dogs in the street who bark fiercely at you??? That’s a threat too, you know???? Sad…what a cheap topic.

    Those who threatened u are cowards….they are desperadosss people who dont think of the rakyats’ life but thinking of their own stomach and greed… Dont worry..we truly gave our 100% support to u. Im born a muslim and I feel shy if the person who send u that sms is also a muslim. Islam taught us to respect other religion and do good deeds. Anyway take care and continue the good work….

    Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC)
    will carry out their job without fear or favour to catch this coward HANTURAYA.

    If they don’t nab this criminal, the people can assume that

    ‘IT IS PROVEN BEYOND REASONABLE DOUBTS THAT THE POLICE, MCMC & AG ENFORCE THE LAW SELECTIVELY..

    the prove is : they can nab the people who put up negative comments on SULTAN PERAK recently and charge them in COURT……

    if the can’t act as efficient and effective as what they are capable to do as the aforesaid case……we can logically and rationally made the conclusion

  17. i don’t think the police are going to be able to help you. They’re not equipped and adept at combating cyber crimes. Look at our flagship auction isle ‘lelong’ and ‘lowyat’ so many conman and fraud cases unsettled ????

  20. Toky, have you ever been a victim of an insidious threat or a crime? I suspect not, hence your offhand remarks. It is truly frightening-perhaps her reporting of the molotov cocktail was also for free and cheap publicity.

    I hope you never become the victim of such threats; then again perhaps that is the only way you will learn to empathise with those who have suffered accordingly. Sure she may be using it for other purposes as well, she’s a politician, but that is beside the point. The threat has been made, and given past reactions by neanderthals towards her, she should be worried. I wonder how you would react if you were under the same pressure. Laugh it off perhaps?

    But also, you can choose not to read her blogs-I suggest you start by ignoring her and continue living in your cuckoo land.

    With the IP address captured, it’s real easy to find out who the culprit is. The police just need to access P1’s access log to find out the user who’s logged with that IP address at the particular point of time.
    If i am granted the access to P1’s record, i can give the answer in minutes!! But of course, whether the police wants to investigate is another matter! Malaysia Bodoh!

  23. The acts of these cowardly folks will not endear anyone. Having “received” an explosive in the garage of my house last week, I certainly can feel for you. Let us not be intimidated.
