Today afternoon when I walked into MPs’ lounge in the parliament, Azeez, the MP for Baling called me and invited me to eat Mee Mamak with him. He said he is a mamak, he loves to eat mee mamak.
Then PKR MP for Sungai Petani, Johari and MP for Kapar, Manivannan joined the table to eat mee mamak.
Azeez is the chairman of Tabung Haji. He used to boast about how he helped victims of natural disasters in his parliament speech. He might be very noisy in the Dewan Rakyat, but he is friendly to all outside the chamber.
Today he told us how much he loves to eat Indian food and mamak food in Penang. He said he believed it was because of the nice food in Penang that made Lim Guan Eng chose to stay in Penang, just like him

We then talked about race-relations in Malaysia, and how disaster has brought people of different races to help each other. This guy has all the resources to do charity. This is his strength and interests. He is the only BN MP who still wear the badge of “1 Malaysia”, a slogan which has forgotten by most BN leaders.
We took a photo together with the plate of mee mamak. The mee mamak brought we MPs of different religions and races and political parties together for an afternoon chat 🙂)
