Today I attended the funeral ceremony of a DAP veteran, Lau Dak Kee at Kwangsi cemetery in KL. Lau was the former MP for Ipoh. He was also a renowned grassroots leader In Perak.
He passed away at his home in Ipoh two days ago. Today he was buried in Kwangsi Cemetery as he was the advisor of the Kwangsi clan association.
Mat Sabu, the President of Amanah made a point to attend his burial ceremony at Kwangsi cemetery today. Mat Sabu and Lau Dak Kee met when they were detained under ISA during Operasi Lalang in 1987 in Kamunting Camp.
Mat Sabu told us that he used to cook in the detention camp and Lau Dak Kee used to taste his cooking.
