Tonight I attended the memorial night of Kerk Kim Hock, the former DAP Secretary-General and former MP & state assemblyman. I delivered a 10-minute-speech tonight.
The memorial nite went on well, it was attended by more than 300 party members and supporters. Tonight I was happy to meet with a number of party veterans, friends and supporters.
Kerk’s son, Kerk Chee Yee delivered a good speech in English and Mandarin. He described how his father battled against cancer and how the family joint Kerk in his battle against cancer.
LKS was the last speaker tonight. He said Kerk was his best political secretary. He then announced Kerk Chee Yee to be his new political secretary. He said it was the first time he has both father and son to be his political secretary.
Wah! Surprise! Not a bad idea too.
Our DAP HQ staffs have done a good job in organising the memorial nite for Kerk today. Many of them don’t know Kerk but they still worked hard to make this memorial night a success.
