After accusing the DAP hijacking Bersih 4 rally and sowing the seeds of racial discord and warned that it could compromise peace and security in the nation, MCA president Datuk Seri Liow Tiong Lai now wants the Barisan Nasional Council to hold a supreme council meeting to discuss racial elements that happened during Bersih 4.
The question that must be asked is, what is Liow up to?
It is understandable that MCA is worried about the success of the Bersih 4 event where his and his party’s stand is totally out of touch with the public sentiment.
There is no doubt that due to its failure to stand together with the people, MCA has become more and more irrelevant. And it must therefore try to save face or divert public attention by attacking the DAP.
But for Liow Tiong Lai to make the malicious, dangerous and baseless accusation that DAP has hijacked Bersih rally, has spread racial hatred are just too shocking and utterly irresponsible. He deserves to be condemned for making such remarks.
Surely he knows that the incident of stomping on the images of Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak and PAS president Abdul Hadi Awang was an isolated incident beyond Bersih organisers’ control and that the incident had nothing to do with the DAP.
Yet why he could be so irresponsible to want to manipulate and magnify the incident and claim that the race relations was tense after the rally and stressed on the need for a supreme council meeting to be held as soon as possible to discuss possible remedies?
The rally attended by hundreds of thousands of courageous Malaysians was peacefully held. Except for the expected response from the extremists, everything is normal and Malaysia is peaceful.
What is Liow up to when he claimed that race relations is tense after the rally? It looks like he has an agenda and purpose of wanting to claim that the race relation is tense.
Two days ago, Federal Territories Umno Youth chief Mohd Razlan Rafii , in a statement, has said the following:-
“We realise the relationship between races is eroding recently because of the attitude of the Chinese, who are communistic in their ideology, and have openly rejected Malays, bumiputera and Islam openly on social media using their language.
“This was why so many Chinese youths dared to demonstrate on the streets simply to ensure that the government will fall.
“If that is what they want, then perhaps it is time for Malays and bumiputera to hit the streets to demand back their rights on this soil”.
While Mohd Razlan is attacking the Chinese, Liow is attacking the DAP. Why is Liow not courageous enough to rebut Razlan and tell him the truth that so many Malaysians were prepared to exercise their democratic right to be present at Bersih 4.0 rally because they agreed with Berish’s demands and they want a better Malaysia for all.
If Liow does not dare to rebut Razlan or any extremist group who are using the Berish 4 rally to unfairly attack the Chinese, he should at least keep silent and not play along with their racial line by attacking the DAP.
