Yesterday (30.3.2013) noon, Lim Kit Siang, Tan Kok Wai, Fong Kui Lun and Lim Lip Eng came to officiate the opening of DAP Seputeh General Elections Operation Centre that located at Kuchai Entrepreneur’s Park, near to my Seputeh service centre.
The premises was let out by the shop owner free of charge. We just need to do some minor renovations in it.
In my welcome speech, I thanked the shop owner for letting me to use its premises as GE operation centre. I said DAP Seputeh has more machinery and more resources compare to the last General Elections in 2008. I also said DAP Seputeh committed to fight a good fight in coming GE, that’s why we set up this GE operation centre. We will have 4 elections centres (including this one) in the Seputeh constituency, namely; Taman Desa, Taman Sg Besi, 2 in Kuchai Entrepreneur’s Park.
In Lim Kit Siang’s speech, he whacked Najib for signing a number of agreements and defence equipment deals when the government is an “expired government”. He also talked about the importance for him to contest in Gelang Patah, because we must break the stronghold of Barisan Nasional should we want to get into Putrajaya.
At the end of all speeches, the emcees announced about my birthday, and a birthday cake was presented to me while birthday song being played. Ha ha!! What a surprise from my staffs and colleagues! My actual birthday is 31st March but i received the birthday blessing one day earlier.
Kit Siang asked about my age, and I replied: 49. Age is not a secret for a public figure :-))
