From right to left: Fong Kui Lun (MP for Bukit Bintang), Lim Lip Eng (MP for Segambut), Jimmy Wong (State Assemblyman for Tawau) and me
On the night of the 17th of March 2013, DAP Seputeh organised a fundraising dinner at Jalan Radin Indah, Sri Petaling. When we had planned this dinner before Chinese New Year, we had anticipated that Parliament would have been dissolved by that time, and that on this date we would have one of the grandest fund raising dinners of the 13th GE campaign. Well, I was wrong ………….
However, the dinner was a complete success. We opened approximately 200 tables on the night, and we had a splendid crowd.
In my speech, I mentioned that my term as an MP had already expired. Thanks to Najib delaying and delaying the elections, we not only have an expired Prime Minister and an expired government, but also many expired MPs! On a more serious note, I spoke in Mandarin and English and talked about the problems faced by the nation, such as the state of our democracy, our economy, our national education policies, and the problems with DBKL…..
Quite a number of Bukit Bintang constituents stay in Seputeh. Fong Kui Lun happily spoke to them during the dinner.
Lim Lip Eng made a forceful speech. As usual, MCA and Chua Soi Lek were his targets …… 🙂
Nurul Izzah Anwar arrived at the end of Lip Eng’s speech. Her arrival created an “uproar”. The applause was thunderous. Many stood up just to greet her. This was an unmistakeable demonstration of her popularity with the people.
One of our speakers saudara Gobind Singh could not make the dinner as he had to speak in a ceramah in Puchong. We used the opportunity to introduce a new face to our Seputeh diners: Jimmy Wong, our Tawau state assemblyman.
Our merchandise counter was very popular……we sell Ubah soft toys, figurines of myself, and books written by myself and other party leaders.
Many supporters took photographs with me during and after the dinner.
Teresa Kok, will you still be in Seputeh ?
Taman Kinara or Bandar Kinara?
Best wishes to you!
Wow,wow, wow!!!
Both you and Nurul have brains as well as beauty!!!
In fact, the PR is blessed with a surfeit of outstanding leaders while UMNO/BN has a dearth of any leaders to speak of.
No wonder UMNO/BN is so jittery about holding the GE!!!!
They must be wetting their pants!!!!
For our country, for our next generation, to have a fair and clean government, BN must be OUT. Our country are so rich in natural resources, yet it is still so poor and is going to go bankrupt!!!!!! We buy expensive things, pay high taxes, low quality education…..BN is to blamed!
