Dear YB Teresa, i didn’t attend Pakatan’s celebration yesterday as prior to this i had already been to the temple twice and the traffic was horrible. I anticipated the traffic would be much worse yesterday and decided to go to MCA’s celebration instead. Anyway i want to congratule you and PR for a successful celebration ( i heard the crowd was more than 15,000 ).
Just to let you know that i was disappointed with the MCA’s celebration at Pandamaran. First the location chosen was a mistake ( i don’t mean Pandamaran but the street it was held ). A street right in the middle of a town is not the right place to hold function like this. When i reached there i saw people carrying small red bags ( goody bags ) and thougth there were like “door gifts” given to visitors. I thought there must be something else to eat / drink but was suprised to find there was nothing else except those so called goody bags and what’s inside the bag ? Well, a small bottle of mineral water, 4 mandarin oranges and a piece of muffin cake and a lucky draw coupon. It was not that like wanted to eat but for a national function like, i expected something more than mineral water and oranges. Today i read that Rais Yatim was happy with the big crowd ( especially the Chinese ) at the function. Yes the crowd was big but still pales in comparison with Pakatan’s crowd. Actually this shouldn’t be the case as Pandamaran in located in Klang ( big population ) whereas Jenjarom is just a small town with much smaller population. This means many outsiders took the effort to visit PR’s function whereas BN’s function attracted mostly local people. When a function like this was held in Pandamaran, literally at their doorsteps, i see no reason why Pandamaran folks should not joined in the celebration. Yes, most of the Chinese there were Pandamaran folks, not outsiders. Seems like outsiders chose to visit Pakatan’s function. Today i saw in the newspaper a photo showing Najib’s and gang tossing yee sang. If we look carefully it was taken indoor, probably at some politician’s house and even that the plate of yee sang was small ( only for symbolic photo session )
