Continuation of previous post about my programme to open new DAP branch office in Perlis…
The day’s programme in Perlis continued with the DAP Perlis 1000-people fundraising dinner. I had been told that this dinner had created quite a stir in Perlis, particularly among the Chinese community and had fired their imagination. Nevertheless, I was very impressed that we were able to gather over 1000 ppl to attend this fundraising dinner in Kangar.
In my speech, I said to the people that no political party is perfect but if the people want to get the best from the government, it is necessary to have two coalition system for a check and balance system.
I told the people that Barisan Nasional had copied the 1Malaysia concept from the solid cooperation of the three parties which make up the Pakatan Rakyat coalition. The Pakatan Rakyat government in Selangor is fair to all races and does not practice favouritism. We are trying our best to share the resources of state with rakyat with programmes such as Skim Warga Mas and free water for home use, unlike when during Barisan Nasional’s time when politicians were busy pocketing the wealth of the state to build their mansions and castles.

Lastly, I urged the people of Perlis to suport Pakatan Rakyat. I told them that with their support, we can fulfill our dream to stretch from Perlis all the way towards Putrajaya and make Pakatan Rakyat the government throughout Malaysia.
