Last Saturday, I was at the Sua Rasa Aidilfitri programme at Stadium Melawati which was organised by the Selangor state government together with TV9. There were so many things happening there. There were food stalls, arts and crafts, shopping, cooking demonstration. But most of all, there were Selangor government booths create awareness on the the programmes to “Merakyatkan Ekonomi Selangor” such as “Skim Mesra Usia Emas”, “Tabung Warisan Anak Selangor” dan “Hadiah Anak Masuk Universiti”.
TV9 had a live interview with Menteri Besar.
With Dato Dr Hasan Ali and his wife. First time I had seen a “kambing golek” of this size in Malaysia.
The event was recorded and broadcast live on TV9 on that day.
We also had Jom Daftar Undi! voter registration booth at the location. Menteri Besar Khalid Ibrahim tried to check his details on the system using his new IC but was surprised when it couldn’t be found on the system. So I suggested that he check his old IC number and there it was.
Lots of people came.
There’s EXCO Ean Yong in blue, EXCO Ronnie Liu in yellow at the back, EXCO Rodziah Ismail in pink and myself in a cream-coloured salwar kameez on the occasion of Deepavali on the same day.
Dear YB,
I was there too to help out with the JOM dafter undi on Saturday as one of the Saya Anak Bangsa Malaysia volunteers. I was told by our fellow SABM-ers that we tried very hard to get a registrar for the event. Many cancel last minute. In the end, Rajiv (i hope i spelt his name correctly, and isn’t it he was supposed to celebrate Deepavali with family on last saturday) was the only registrar that did not let us down.
If PR really wants to see a change in this country, PR should be more concern about getting un-registered voter to register. It’s time for PR to work together as ONE and get more un-registered voters to register. So that they can play their part in the coming election.
