Today at noon my service centre team and I went to distribute boxed lunches to needy residents in low cost flats in United Garden at Jalan Klang Lama.
This exercise was initiated by a kind-hearted lady in Taman Desa who offered to cook 100 sets of vegetarian food. Two days later, another lady in Taman Seputeh offered to cook 50 sets of pork-free lunches for us to give to the needy. So we had 150 sets of lunch boxes to be given out today.
Today a number of old folks came and collected the lunch from us happily at the flats. They also helped us to deliver to other old folks and the sick in the neighbourhood, whom we were not aware. Bless them.
I joined a young resident called Ah Meng to distribute food to some senior citizens who didnโt come out to collect food.
I welcome all forms of donations to our food aid activity. However the if I may add that dried food is easier to manage compared to cooked food.
