‘Show me a tweet a BN leader has made that’s wrong and we’ll take the same action’

Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Khalid Abu Bakar today hit back at his detractors saying police only go after opposition members and leaders because they are the only ones breaking the law.

He said this in response to the wide criticism that only opposition members were targeted by police compared with their BN counterparts.

“The problem is only their side (opposition) always create a ruckus and break the law.

“This is why it looks like we only take action against them,” he said at the parade ceremony in conjunction with the 208th Police Day at Police Training Centre (Pulapol) here today.

He asked the people to show him federal government leaders who had broken the law or made any controversial social media statements.

“Please show me a tweet that a BN leader made that was wrong.

“If there is, we will take the same action.

“I am also fed up of having to comment about being biased. Even the burning bible issue had already been referred to the A-G, so no need to ask me about it.”

He said this was brought up often on purpose to lead the public astray and to tarnish the police’s reputation.

“Yesterday Rocketkini tweeted saying that we were working for Umno, I will call them to see us and show us the proof they have or we will take action against them.

“Do not purposely make these allegations that we work for Umno, we do not work for anyone and we take no orders from the minister.”
