This morning I joined my colleagues Lim Guan Eng, Tan Kok Wai, Lim Lip Eng etc to sign the condolence book for the founding father of Singapore, Lee Kuan Yew at Singapore High Commission at Jalan Tun Razak.
Lee Kuan Yew was always a controversial leader. Some praise him sky high for his efforts and contribution to build a modern , developed , efficient and clean Singapore with low corruption, but for those who have been suppressed by his authoritarian leadership style in Singapore, they don’t have kind words for him till today.
LKY could build a successful Singapore because he was a far-sighted leader who emphasized on human talents, efficiency and good governance. There are a lot of things we can learn from him. There are a lot of write-ups and analyses about LKY; I don’t want to repeat what many people have commented.
Rest in Peace in the Lord, Mr Lee Kuan Yew. You have created history, and you will always be remembered in the history of Malaysia and Singapore.
