Both the IGP and Dang Wangi OCPD had agreed that the Himpunan Kebangkitan Rakyat 112 could be held at Stadium Merdeka and promised that the police officers will be sent to ensure the safety of the participants during the rally. However, the organizing committee was told yesterday evening that the rally should be moved to Stadium Bukit Jalil instead. Teresa Kok finds this puzzling and sees this sudden change of heart as a clear sign there are some internal problems within the police force. The organizing committee members reached a consensus late last night that the rally will proceed as planned, at Stadium Merdeka. This is a decision Teresa Kok fully endorses.
After the experiences from previous rallys, it is imperative that proper recordings at #112 are in place
in the event of disruptions at the peaceful rally.
I kind of wonder who were calling the shots on behalf of the authorities during the past 2 rallies. As far as I can remember, both the PM and his deputy were by coincidence quite far away from KL then. During the Bersih 3 rally, our Home Minister was clueless to the point of announcing that the police had done a professional job at 3 something in the evening which was the time when the police was beginning to launch their indiscriminate assault against the rally participants and journalists.
