I am shocked the Defence Ministry denies a military officer took bribe from James Lim during the flood on Dec 31, without even an inquiry.
The Defence Ministry said James Lim could have mistaken the person who “wore military uniform” and demanded bribe from him as a military officer. The ministry said that most individuals and organizations thought all uniformed personnel were military officers, but anyone could wear military uniform during rescue work.
The statement made by the Defence Ministry raises two questions:
i) The complainant’s police report alleges the driver who drove a military truck filled with military personnel demanded a bribe from him. Does this mean non-military officers were wearing military uniforms and driving military trucks in flood rescue work?
2）While the police have recorded a statement from James Lim, why hasn’t the military police asked James Lim to attend an identification parade? If the Defence Ministry is so sure that the truck driver was not a military officer, then who was driving the truck? Will the police and military take disciplinary action against the alleged offender?
I am doubtful whether the Defence Ministry is concern about revelations military personnel demanded bribes from flood victims.
I also want to know why the police and military have not announced their investigation, if any, on the police report lodged by Wong Yee Ken who accused a military officer of demanding RM250.

国防部否认军人在水灾中索贿的声明是否犯上‘否认症候群‘？
我对于国防部否认马六甲林财成指军人在12月31日水灾中向他索贿的声明感到惊讶。国防部的声明出现两个疑点：
1）林财成的报案书指载着军人的军用罗里的司机向他索贿，国防部否认林财成报案书的声明，是否等于承认国防部容许任何非军人穿军装和驾驶军用罗里来参与救灾工作？
2）据我所知，只有警方曾向林财成录口供，但是军方并未叫林财成去认人？如果国防部确定向林财成索贿者并非是军人，那么驾着军用罗里向林财成索贿者又是何人，而警方和军方是否会对此人采取纪律行动呢？特别是这索贿者当时是驾驶军用罗里和载着军人呢？
令人遗憾的是，国防部否认军人向林财成索贿的简单声明并未解释上述疑点。这令人怀疑国防部不重视军人的纪律和广泛流传军人在救灾中向灾民索贿的指控，反而官官相护，这是非常令人遗憾的。
此外，我也要质问，为何警方和军方至今仍未公布昔加沫商人黄裕权指军人在水灾中向他索取250元贿赂的投诉？国防部是否也将用相同的理由否定黄裕权的投诉呢？ 国防部在处理军人收取贿赂的指责方面是否也犯上“否认症候群“？

The best move now is to start campaigning for the coming GE. Educate the people, as many as we can. Tho’ may not overthrow them overnight, we can still sent them a strong message that the people aren’t as stupid as they thought. I told many of my friends not to waste time on the print media. They published rubbish everyday. Spend sometime on the the net.
Its high time everyone starts campaigning for the coming GE. Waste no time. We may not be able to overthrow BN overnight but winning more seats for DAP or any of the Opposition parties can sent a strong message to BN that the people has wake up and watching. One more wrong move, they’ll be digging their own grave!
I was talking to a friend of mine in the service one day and he reflected on this issue, it is as follows:
“Aiyo Aiyo Aiyo, you people makes such small money to make the ministry looks bad ah? why lah, we see the Bolehmen (the ones in blue) in the street taking bribes everyday and you don’t make comment what……. compare to them we are chicken feed you know, how often do you see a humongous flood in the country, the average bolehmen in the street makes more than the green uniform people (greenies), and you make noise, I admit that these coffee treats are part of their employment perks, so in time of this recent calamity, when we greenies have to double up as blues, this coffee treats……. should also be our perks, we are entitle to it you know?……”
and speechless I had become.
