DAP National Organising Secretary Teresa Kok has rebuked MCA President Chua Soi Lek’s allegation that DAP intends to replace MCA in Barisan Nasional coalition.
She said Chua’s accusation was baseless and ludicrous, and the allegation made by Chua showed he was illogical and irrational.
She pointed out it was rather obvious that the DAP’s fights and struggles in Malaysia politic throughout the years were intended to create an equal and fair society and materializing a Malaysian Malaysia concept.
“Subsequent to the political tsunami in March 2008 and the emerging of the concept of two-party system in Malaysia, DAP has joined hands with all Malaysia democrats in getting the concept materialized.”
Teresa Kok who is also the Member of Parliament for Seputeh added in her statement that the objectives carried by DAP were entirely different from the narrow political view alleged by Chua.
She further claimed that DAP was a multiracial party and looked forward to unite disparate races and diverse religions and cultures in Malaysia. Hence, this was not similar to MCA which only wanted to represent a single race, i.e the Chinese community.
“The DAP’s ultimate goal is to partner with PKR, PAS and other Pakatan friendly parties to oust BN instead of having a narrow view to replace MCA in BN.”
Teresa Kok also pointed out that Chua’s allegations reflected that Chua had a narrow political view wherein in his mind there was no other party can govern Malaysia expect BN. For this reason, MCA was willing to linger around in BN. Thus, DAP must do the same if DAP wish to govern the nation.
She added that MCA had been bound by the racial mindset for many years and it seem like they are slowly retreating from Malaysia politic.
“If Chua continue to stay and trapped in the concept single-race-party and fail to adopt a wider macro view toward Malaysia politic, then I believe MCA and its counterparts will be abandoned and marginalized by the people ultimately.”

她表示：“蔡细历似乎忘记了民主行动党走多元种族路线，我们党内拥有多元种族的领袖和党员，这与走单元种族路线的马华公会截然不同。“
